‘How to Train your Dragon 3’ displaces ‘Madea’s Family Funeral’ to top chart at US box office

“How to Train Your Dragon: Hidden World 3’’ has topped the United States box office for the second week in a row, and grossed $30million.

The Internet Movie Database (IMDB) said that the movie displaced ‘A Madea Family Funeral’ to the second position raking in $27million.

IMDB said, “Alita: Battle Angel’’ raked in $7million while “The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part’’ and “Green Book”, grossed $6.6 million and $4.7million respectively.

“Green Book” got a big boost following its Oscar win for Best Picture.

It listed other movies that made up the top 10 to include: Dwayne Johnson’s “Fighting with my Family’’, “Isn’t it romantic” starring Rebel Wilson, and “Greta” which occupied the sixth, seventh and eighth positions respectively.

Taraji P. Henson’s “What Men Want” and “Happy Death Day 2U” occupied the ninth and tenth positions respectively in the box office.

The U.S box office is the revenue generated by a film while in theatres.

The records are for the United States and Canada together, a market known as the North American box office and domestic box office and where gross is defined in US dollars.
