How visa scam landed disabled school teacher in jail
The court has convicted Idris Buhari, a schoolteacher confined to the wheelchair for N500,000 fraud.
Buhari was sentenced to seven years imprisonment.
He was found guilty of the crime brought against him by one Abdullahi Salisu Muhammad of popular kwari market, Kano.
Muhammad alleged that he gave the convict, who is a school teacher the sum of #500,000.00 for the processing visa and ticket for Hajj in April, 2012.
Buhari who claimed to be a registered travelling agent, diverted the money to his personal use and all effort to recover the money or get the ticket as agreed proved abortive.
Later, the convict claimed that that robbers took the money from him. The matter was reported to the Economic and Financial crimes commission (EFCC), who eventually took the case to court and secured a conviction.
