I deliberately create controversies just to trend – Shatta Wale
Controversial Ghanaian reggae-dancehall singer, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr, popularly known in the entertainment industry as Shatta Wale, has explained the motive behind his many controversial actions.
Shatta Wale in an interview on Peace FM Ghana said he deliberately creates controversies to gain public attention.
The singer noted that he is happy that he is able to achieve his aim of being a trending topic with his actions.
Shatta Wale added that if Ghanaians knew the reasons behind most of his actions and utterances, they would not be bothered about them.
Making a reference to his scuffle with Stonebwoy on stage at the 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards in May this year, he explained that he had no ill intention.

Shatta Wale said:
“I have been acting all along and it is sad that Ghanaians didn’t see it. I created all the controversies to get the attention I needed and I am glad I did get the impact.
“There was no way I was going to cause any harm on stage. I should have just been given the opportunity to do whatever I wanted to do. I knew the platform I was on and I was not going to do anything bad.”
