I don’t give a damn, Pete Edochie on Sugabelly calling him a bad actor

Published

Veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie, has finally reacted to the US-based writer and Illustrator, Sugabelly, comment about his acting skills which according to her is ‘really bad’.

Lotanna Odunze, aka Sugabelly, had last week dismissed Edochie prowess as an actor, saying he’s been playing the same role his entire life.

Sugabelly wrote on her Twitter page,

“Pete Edochie is a really bad actor. He’s been playing the same role his entire life.

“Acting isn’t quoting proverbs. But Nigerians live and die by seniority, so the older he gets, the less anybody is able to point this glaring elephant in the room out.”

Sunday Scoop reached out to Edochie to react to Sugabelly’s statement, he said;

‘‘I’ll be honest with you; I’m indifference to opinions expressed about me because they don’t make sense to me. If Pete Edochie is a fantastic actor, thank you very much…

“It doesn’t mean anything to me; it has absolutely nothing to do with me. If you start responding to things that don’t make sense, there is that danger of reducing yourself to the level of that person. I’m mentally occupied 24 hours on a daily basis. I trained formally as a broadcaster and by the grace of God, I happen to be an articulate individual. I don’t have to advertise that, every other person knows that.

“I don’t even see most of these things and I don’t give a damn about it and don’t care. You have a right to express any opinion about me but it doesn’t mean anything to me. I have 13 grandchildren and I have been successfully married for 50 years. I’m living in my own house and comfortable.

“I don’t have time for all these things… What matters is that Pete Edochie is alive, kicking and enjoying himself.

“On April 7 I’ll be 73. There are few people of my age who are active. If I start responding to individuals, it means that I don’t appreciate God who created me…”

Peter Okoye

Peter Okoye, stage name MrP, during a live video chat with controversial On-Air-Personality (O.A.P), Ifedayo Olarinde, AKA Daddy Freezy on Instagram, expressed his disappointment in Nigerians and vowed never to have pity for Nigeria anymore.

Peter Okoye was seen lamenting in the video where he said the government would continue to use the people because they know the people will continue to be vulnerable.

In his words:

“It was before I pity this country, if I pity this country again, call me ba***rd.

Right now, I have crossed the border, because as I am now, my children’s children will not suffer.

“I have gotten to a stage in my life where what people say doesn’t really bother me anymore.

“What bothers me is this, I am not a politician but I will say this, those people who condemn the government stealing money, put them there tomorrow, they will also steal money.

“I am one of the musicians in this country who used to fight for the people but I have lost it.

“Nigerians are not worth fighting for, these people will sit down in their homes with that cheap data, looking for what to eat and still condemn me sitting under my air conditioner.

“If you like you hate on me, it is better you go and buy sniper or un-follow me,

“I earn nothing less than 10 to 15 thousand followers on Instagram every day, which means I will keep rising.

“They said I should act mature, who maturity help?

“Are you waiting for me to be broke?

“These same people, give them money to slap their mothers, they will do it, useless people.”

Kanye West

American rapper Kanye West, a vocal supporter of U.S. President Donald Trump, announced on Saturday that he would run for president in 2020 in an apparent challenge to Trump and his presumptive Democratic rival, former Vice President Joe Biden.

“We must now realise the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future.

“I am running for president of the United States,” West wrote in a Twitter post, adding an American flag emoji and the hashtag “#2020VISION”.

It was not immediately clear if West was serious about vying for the presidency four months before the Nov. 3 election or if he had filed any official paperwork to appear on state election ballots.

The deadline to add independent candidates to the ballot has not yet passed in many states.
