I don’t want to die here, 23-year-old Nigerian lady sold to slavery in Lebanon cries for help [Video]
A 23-year-old Nigerian lady, who claimed she was deceived by human traffickers to travel to Lebanon to seek a greener pasture but was sold into slavery, has cried out for help from her detention.
Omolola Ajayi, a single mom from Osun state, said on getting to the country she was sold into slavery and her travel documents were seized.
This is not the first African ladies would be sharing their tales after being deceived by travel agents to migrate to Lebanon where they are promised lucrative jobs.
WuzupNigeria reported in May 2019 how a Gambian lady Fatou Badjie, 23, shared her ordeal of how she and other ladies were sold to slavery in Lebanon.
She added that her kidney was removed and sold in the country without her consent after accompanying her boss to the hospital not knowing there was a plan to do an operation on her.
While Badjie had since been rescued, Omolola is still in captive and has cried out to Nigerians from her “detention” to rescue her and save her from dying in Lebanon.
She shared a video of herself weeping as she narrated her ordeal.
The video has since gone viral on the internet with many seeking help for the distressed Nigerian sharing the video across several social media platforms.
Narrating her ordeal, Ajayi said a family friend introduced her to a foreigner who took her to Lebanon where she is meant to teach students English language but turned out she was deceived.
She revealed that she has a three-year-old baby and she was shocked when she learnt that she has been sold off as a slave.
Omolola said:
“What I face here is demeaning and I do not want to lose my life. If I get sick, they do not take us to hospitals rather they give us panadol and almost half of us are dead, a rather sad 23-year-old single mother disclosed.”
In the footage, Omolola could be seen appealing to a non-governmental organisation to come to her rescue as she complained about an elderly man she lives with who regularly tries to forcefully have sex with her
She also added that her phone was seized and she has been told it would only be released if she accepts the man’s sexual advances.
“I only use the phone when the elderly man and other person are asleep or when they go out. I have called my agent but she blocked my line. I told my boss that I want to go home but he declined and said to me that he has paid for my life, 23-year-old single mother soberly stated.
“I do not know what would happen if I push this man whenever he tries to sleep with me. I do not want to commit murder so that I won’t be killed.
“I do not have a room, I sleep on the floor and I wear used and torn clothes. I might commit murder if the man tries to rape me. Please save my life. I want to take care of my baby,” she appealed.
