I HAVE A HUGE CRUSH ON SIMI! Nigerian artiste Dapo opens up on plans with her
Nigerian artiste, Dapo, has revealed that he has a huge crush on Simi but she does not know about it.
The artiste, who made the revelation in a chat with Saturday Beats is recently signed to Xtreme music, the record label of popular singer, Praiz.
He recently released a song titled; ‘Necessary,’ which is dominating the airwaves across Lagos.
Dapo said,
“I get star struck when I am with Simi and I am a big fan of hers. There was a time we went out together and I had to post our picture on my Instagram page because I have a huge crush on her.”
He said Simi has a wonderful voice and revealed that they already have plans to do a song together.
The singer, who is under the same management with Simi, noted that although he just got a record deal, his phone calls have increased drastically and most of the people calling him are unknown women.
He said,
“The major problem I have is women. For an artiste like me, I need the women more so that they can help me shine brighter because once the ladies accept you, then you would make it.
“I cannot get anyone pregnant at this stage because it could destroy my career. A lot of ladies send me messages but I think it is a normal thing. I like beautiful girls a lot but I try to control myself because there is no how you would not see a lady you like.”
Dapo further revealed that his song was inspired by the hard times he has experienced in life.
He said,
“My new song, ‘Necessary’ basically chronicles all the hard times I have experienced in life. Things were going well for my parents while I was growing up but at a point in our lives, my father lost everything he had when the Nigerian stock market crashed and till date, he has yet to recover from his loss. Since that time, I have been forced to fend for myself and at a point, I actually left home to pursue my music career.
“I went to Project Fame in 2016 and when I finished the game show, I left my parents’ house and began to sleep in the studio. I left the house in order to focus on my career; I did not want any distraction.
“Luckily, my parents have always been supporting my career but when I made the decision to leave home, my mother was not happy. I had to let her know that I am a man and I need to fend for myself. I felt bad when I did not win Project Fame especially because my parents really needed the money but I told myself that I had to use the platform to boost my career.”
