I KILLED MY LOVER! Suspect confesses in a Facebook post [Video]
A 23-year-old man accused of murdering his 21-year-old lover, Zolile Khumalo and boasting about it on Facebook, appeared upbeat and full of smiles as he makes his first court appearance on Thursday (today).
According to News24, during his brief court appearance, Thabani Mzolo was dressed in a red hoodie and blue jeans, smiling as journalists took photographs of him at a South-African court.
He has been charged with murder and the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
Earlier, Mzolo had taken to Facebook to apparently confess his misdeeds after allegedly killing his lover.
The police spokesperson, Lt.-Colonel Thulani Zwane, on Wednesday said the police were called by residents of Mangosuthu University of Technology, Durban, South Africa.
“When police arrived, they found a 21-year-old woman with multiple gunshot wounds,” said Zwane.
According to the police, the 21-year-old deceased has been identified as Zolile Khumalo, a quantity surveyor student.
Zwane also added, “An unlicensed firearm was recovered at the scene, as well as ammunition; and a 23-year-old male who was found at the scene surrendered to the police.”
In a Facebook post, the man wrote,
“It is surreal. If I had the power, I would bring her back so that we can right our wrongs by talking.
“But that’s no longer possible because she has left without me telling her that I forgive her.”
When one of the man’s Facebook friends asked him what had happened, he wrote, “Man, I killed my Zozo”.
It is suspected that he wrote the post shortly after allegedly committing the crime.
