Nollywood actress Charity Nnaji has said she felt guilty over her attitude towards late Michael Arowosaiye, the music minister who committed suicide in Abuja a few days ago.
Nnaji said when Michael was alive he had made several attempts to speak with her via phone calls and social media chats, but she ignored him.
WuzupNaija reports that Michael, a worship leader at a new generation church in Abuja, committed suicide a few days ago following depression believed to have been caused by his cancelled wedding and leaked nudes.
The actress took to Instagram on Friday to share screenshots of Facebook chats between her and Michael, showing how she had ignored the deceased’s chats several times.
Nnaji, however, said the news of Michael’s death shredded her heart, saying she could have been of help to Michael during the period of his challenges which may have stopped him from taking his own life.
“I really feel guilty of my self right now. To be honest, the way we ignore or not respond to chats and calls from our loved ones or friends at any point in time is so devastated without knowing what they are passing through at that point of time.
“My heart goes to the family of Micheal the man of God who committed suicide yesterday.
“I saw the post yesterday my heart went into shreds because this young man used to chat me up sometimes, he will even call me but I will ignore his calls without knowing the reason why he is calling me.
“What I’m trying to say in essences is this, that some of our ignored calls or chat mighty save a life.
“At any given minute, please let’s make out time to go true those chat, and try calling back those missed calls you never can tell how far it will go, RIP Michael. Suicide is not the best option”
