Disgruntled Nigerians on Twitter have expressed their disappointment at the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, who had vowed to privatise the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) if he gets into power, even if it costs him his life.

Many said that Atiku has confirmed their fears that he doesn’t have anything to offer the poor citizens of the country.

Some Nigerians also stressed that the Atiku is only interested in embezzling more public funds for a select few and the high and mighty who will be beneficial to his government.

Atiku made the controversial statements while addressing the business community in Lagos at an event themed “Getting Nigeria’s Economy Working: A Pragmatic Approach.”

The PDP candidate on Wednesday said, “I am committed to privatizing NNPC, I said it.”

“I swear, even if they are going to kill me, I will do it. At the end of the day, privatising NNPC is going to be to our own advantage because you’re not going to lose anything,” he says. he said.

Beyond privatising the oil corporation, Atiku also vows that his emergence in power will be a good advantage for his friends.

“I am also not going to enrich members of my family but my friends.

“Are my friends not entitled to be enriched? As long as there is no element of corruption there,” He said.

Recall that Malaysia rich kid, Ray Hushpuppi, after meeting Atiku Abubakar advised Nigerians to vote Atiku and shun the advances of younger candidates like Omoyele Sowore.

The self-styled Gucci ambassador said politics in Nigeria is not based on the truth but needs huge money to fund and, therefore, the younger generation of politicians do not have the financial capacity to take power in 2019.
