Shot in Makoko, a slum in Lagos, the fictional story is told through the eyes of the principal character, King.

The movie highlights King’s checkered past, surviving the present while trying to maintain dominance as ‘King of the slum.’ This story narrates the violence, drug abuse, prostitution and corruption that permeate every day Nigeria with particular focus to slum lifestyle.

Directed by award-winning Nigerian director, Yemi filmboy Morafa, who is best known for his non- linear narrative style of filmmaking, “City Of Bastards” is a Silueta entertainment studio production, a production company focused on telling African stories to the world.

According to Morafa,

“We have to tell these stories even if our limits are stretched. ‘City of Bastards’ explores the slum as a breeding ground of crime, but like any other world there is love, hate, envy, fear and the sheer will to survive. It was hard to resist Titi’s screenplay so I jumped on it.”
