Dolapo Badmus

The Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, Dolapo Badmus, has reacted to the viral video of some Special Anti-Robbery Squad officers brutalising a man with an iron rod while trying to take him into custody.

Badmus said she was pissed off saying that some “unscrupulous element” was spoiling her hard work.

She also said that anyone with useful information about the brutalised men should tell him to DM, text or call on 09071555555.

Badmos, writing on her Instagram page said:

“I’m so pissed off right now!!! I just don’t want to think of it. You work so hard but some unscrupulous element…..,,arrrghhh! “THE STORY OF A SWEATY FOWL” ? bye people, good night!

“Sincerely my heart is with that young man in the trending video! That iron rod…. arrrrgh!

“That was uncalled for! Anyone with useful information about the young man should tell him to DM, text or call on 09071555555…we need to identify the men for proper action.”

The video which had sparked outrage on the internet showed one heartless SARS officer hitting the unidentified man repeatedly with an iron rod while four other officers were manhandling him and trying to push him inside a parked yellow commercial bus.

The man could also be heard screaming in pains as the SARS officer hit him hard with the iron rod on his arms, knees and legs.

See the video and some comments:

@ohiaan@yomisarsoga: if the police should allow sars then create a task force solely for the purpose for checking out undisciplined officers, besides no police officers should roam thr street with commercial buses, they are smart using buses so they be traced
ohiaan@opetodolapo first they should be strict nationwide order, saying no police officer should roam the street with commercial buses, they use such to avoid been traced, how can police move with commercial buses and secondly it is obvious the endsars won’t happen,so why not create a task force to checkmate indisciplined officers, and i mean disciplined officers for the task force.

@kingkingsley10: That iron rod dey for every police station police .. den dey call am talk true..but if you enter any sars office wetin you go see there na pestle and dont bother looking for the mortar…

@iamblackforeign: Ma, don’t come online and start typing this and that, make it work, these people has killed not one, not two intact more young guys that are trying to survive… I taya o, I no dey gree comot for house Bc if I do now, they would hold me Bc I wore a good clothe or have a good phone… May God help us so they won’t kill the so called leaders of tomorrow finish…

@clefgift: @opetodolapo I swear you and @aleeygiwa inspire the Last bit of Hope I have in The Police Force I pray God keeps you guys to bring about the change we need (Amen)

2oneloveforsure456: Lol…. To call or text? The Boy way they go still put for cell for days and later end up in jail if those police no rope him and put gun for him Pocket say Na thief him be and am sure Na money they want collect from him that lead to all this. If they no later say the guy is yahoo boy they go tell us say Na Rubber. Those police go don see the video two and am sure they go don arrange what to use to win the Boy. My question is all this sars have oga who send them out and am sure they do deliver to there oga and rest mate for office. This how they do it, pick nice-looking guy from street if you question them Na to beat and take you to station detain you for days then bail go end am start from 100k up some go even say Na 500k to 1m be there money but for person way still need his life and know there no way to win police than to hand them over to god and allow Kamar to judge and pay for his freedom. If this guy is not in cell now am sure he go they hospital or they his house in serious pain.

@harlotime: For God sake how can we be living in our country with perpetual fear? Haaaa o ma se oooo Nigeria my country… What a country?

@adepejumomoh: God bless you as you investigate and bring those offices to book. Nigerians can’t be living in fear because the police/sars that are meant to protect us see and treat us as criminals.

@oneloveforsure456@ohiaan: IGP/ ITR are in charge of that. But there hands are full. I know @opetodolapo is trying but she can’t kill herself. How many case she want attended to. The solution is to have responsible people who will handle phone call and act immediately not those one that receive call and hang up in ration station and laugh the caller after they hand up without doing anything. Seriously if the care is not taking all this sars will push youth to do what will cause problem one day and is getting there. My question is this are this police not human like us? They should watch America and see how they arrest with sweet word.

@moyostephen@wmg0305: as in a very stupid statement to say.clearly they can’t even do their own investigations.I used to believe that people voices could be heard relating to issues concerning a country but its clear that our so called government has turn deaf ears to them

@moyostephen@prochainzy: they know them, politics is everywhere.is it even right to make an arrest with a commercial bus? They just wear t-shirts with no identity card or means of identification and you expect him to comply?

@uch4apex: When we were crying that SARS is a terrorist organization you pretended as if you don’t know that..

@moshebolatannLmao: like you guys don’t know what to do??? Setup a round table conference meeting with the citizens and let us give you ideas. Then picking from the ideas should help build the police force again. Stop posting and do the needful before police start counting how many policemen has been killed by JUNGLE JUSTICE.. ENOUGH SAID!

@ohiaan@oneloveforsure456: @opetodolapo watch american movies? Isn’t that a shame, how old is nigeria that we dont know right and wrong, few weeks back, madam did a live show which she said sars give excuse of using buses cause they dont have vehicles, such blatant lies from sars, she should know they use that to cover their illegal movement, RRS and other mobile police always move around,so why should sars be on thr street if they isnt any emergercy call,if the IG and madam wants to deal with this issue, they know what to do

@bhurtee: Story of my life…somethings never change. Nigeria is a failed state, stop expecting anything positive from negative minded people. PVC is just another form of distraction by these politicians. Change the mindset, and change will touch all aspects of life. ✌

@khadeum_bank_: @opetodolapo I know there’s nothing you can do but at least do something. This your people are doing illegal jobs, imagine what they did to Leke. If he was your younger brother are you just gonna sit down on your chair and do nothing, come to ojodu and see the way this people roam about with confidence cause they have privileges to gun. Come to Berger in the morning and see them patrolling in different cars. You guys need to do something.

@yomaizo: Thanks @opetodolapo ma.. I really appreciate you for coming out in condemning the bloody act those guys did to the guy.. Not like the other officer that always defend them am sorry to say.. Cause he never for once believe that that human being would be treated like a terrorist. Am not sorry to say this
yomaizoAm not sorry to say this those guys are animal in human form.. Damn

@ijoba_dotman: @opetodolapo Sorry to say this madam, I’m very sure you guys know the officers in that video it’s uncalled for please figure it out and they should be brought to book
