Inter Milan make improved transfer bid for Lukaku
Italian giants, Inter Milan, have tabled a new bid of £64.7m plus add-ons for Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku.
Man United rejected Inter’s opening bid of £54m several weeks ago, but the Italian club have come back with an improved offer.
It is understood the new offer is an initial fee of £64.7m, with add-ons and performance-related clauses potentially taking the total figure to £75m.
Man United value Lukaku at £80m but there is a desire to get a deal done as quickly as possible, to enable them to bring in a replacement before the transfer window shuts tomorrow.
The 26-year-old Belgium international went AWOL for the second day running yesterday, failing to show up for training at the Red Devils’ AON Training Complex.
Lukaku is staying away from United in the hope of forcing through a move, after falling out of favour with boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
