For allegedly holding a skull in a photo saved on his mobile phone, Police officers on highway patrol have reportedly arrested a traveller along the Benin expressway on Saturday morning.

An eyewitness said the youngman identified as Emery Samuel Ogbah was handcuffed and arrested, despite his explanations to the police officer, Ilobe Luke, that the skull was meant for anatomy practical.

Anatomy is a branch of science that studies the bodily structure of humans, animals, and other living organisms, especially as revealed by dissection and the separation of parts.

According to a social media user identified as Timiebi Ebitibituwa who shared the story via her Twitter handle @quirkytims, the police had stopped the car they were traveling in and started checking the mobile phone of all the youngmen in the car when they found the incriminating photo on one of the passenger’s phone.

She said all her appeal on behalf of the youngman fell on deaf ears as the police officers insisted on detaining him and ordered other travellers to continue their journey.

She wrote:

“I’m on Benin express road and this young guy has been arrested, they said they found a picture of him holding a skull, boy said it’s anatomy practical. His name is Emery Samuel Ogbah, the officer in charge is Ilobe Luke. His phone has been taken and he can’t call anyone.

“They checked the phones of the all the young men in the car and this young man fit the bill, dreads and wearing black. I didnt think it was serious until they handcuffed this young man.

“The name of the place is Odighi, I don’t know what else to do, the officer is shouting and threatening me, he didn’t let me get close to the van and some passengers are not helpful. We have to leave because they have asked us to. I’m shaking and on the verge of tears!

“We have left, couldn’t even collect the young man’s number. The officer kept shouting he has children older and more educated than me because I read his name back to him and asked him for the young man’s crime. Even took my phone I gave the guy. I’m just heartbroken.”
