New Manchester United coach, Jose Mourinho on Thursday set an annoying record with the Old Trafford club by virtue of 0-1 defeat they suffered against Feyenord in the Europa League.

As a result, United recorded their fourth consecutive away loss in Europe, which is now their worst run in the club’s history.

Prior to the match, Mourinho made eight changes from the team that lost to Manchester city on Saturday at Old Trafford.

They failed to created real chances against the dutch side and even wasted the few clear-cut chances that came their way.

The Portuguese was forced to make three substitutions in the 63rd minute as Memphis Depay, Ashley Young and Ibrahimovic replaced the trio of Juan Mata, Anthony Martial and Rashford but could not make much difference as Feyenord ran away as victors.

Speaking at his post-match press conference in Rotterdam, Mourinho praised his players’ willingness to work hard in such a circumstance.

“You win matches and people are happy and full of confidence,” he pointed out. “You lose matches then people are sad and they feel it. That is the normal nature of football players. I am here to try to stop them from being in a negative mood because we lost two matches. They were two matches where we didn’t play well for 90 minutes but they were two matches where we deserved a better result.”
