The Chief Superintendent of Police, Dolapo Badmus, has come under intense criticism for “economizing the truth” over the alleged rape case of a five-year-old girl by a 23-year-old police officer, identified as Sunkanmi Akinsesan.

The accused allegedly raped the daughter of his mother’s tenant through her anus at No. 47 Erede Street, Ekerube in Abaranje area of Ikotun, Lagos.

Using the hashtag #JusticeForHannah, Nigerians have accused the female officer of being insensitive while deliberately covering the tracks of the guilty police child molester.

Speaking about the case in a recent interview with TVC’s ‘your View’ Badmus said the alleged reports that the police examined the young girl is false.

She said; “The police cannot examine a child(Healthwise) because the police isn’t an expert.”

She added, “You can’t question a survivor in the presence of the perp.”

Her statements have led to an uproar on Twitter as many accused Badmus of being biased while countering her claims.

Many also described her as an incompetent officer who would rather submerge the truth for the sake of her “exalted position as a public relations officer”.

Using #JusticeForHannah, netizens are having a field day arguing their points while demanding that the accused police officer, SunkanmiAkinsesan be brought to book.

Recall that a non-governmental organization accused the Nigeria Police Force of releasing the officer who allegedly raped the minor without trial.

The NGO, Ruthsville Foundation, took to Twitter to accuse the police at Zone Two of conspiring with the suspect’s family and the police in Ikotun, to pervert justice by releasing the suspect without referring the case to court.
