Kanye West converts to Christianity, may drop new album ‘Jesus Is King’ in October
American rapper, Kanye West, has revealed he’s fully converted to Christianity.
The rapper held a listening party for his new album, ‘Jesus Is King’ in Washington, D. C. where he made the announcement over the weekend.
Kim Kardashian’s husband told a crowd at George Washington University’s Lisner Auditorium:
‘I want to let you know that I am not here for your entertainment this afternoon.
‘We are here to spread the gospel.’
He furthermore added:
‘Excuse me if I mispronounce anything. I am a recent convert. It means I recently got saved within the year.’
Kanye fully embracing religion will not come as a surprise to fans.
The dad to Chicago, Saint, Psalm and North West is already known for hosting star-studded ‘Sunday Services’ at his and Kim’s Calabasas home in California.
The worship gatherings have been attended by the likes of Katy Perry and Tyler, the Creator, with one even taking place at Coachella music festival earlier this year.
Meanwhile, his new album is set to be called Jesus Is King – but it is not his first foray into religious-themed music.
‘Jesus Is King’ sounds amazing! Kanye said the album is TENTATIVELY dropping on October 25.
As of yesterday, he was still working on new music, which sounds amazing. The IMAX film was very moving. He also read us scriptures.

A single from his debut 2004 album The College Dropout was called Jesus Walks, for example. Names of tracks on the new gospel album include Up from the Ashes, Follow God and Use This Gospel.
Kanye’s pastor Adam Tyson recently offered insight into the star’s relationship with his faith, telling the Pure Flix Podcast that he doesn’t like people cursing in front of him.
‘If somebody cusses in his presence, I’ve heard him say a couple of times, “Hey, man, you can’t cuss when you’re with me. I’m a born-again Christian,”‘ he said.
‘Who’s gonna say that if they’re not meaning that they want Christ to be exalted in all that they do?’
The news that Kanye has fully embraced his faith follows Kim getting the kids baptised in Armenia last week.
Sharing pictures from the occasion, Kim wrote as a caption:
‘So blessed to have been baptized along with my babies at Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, Armenia’s main cathedral which is sometimes referred to as the Vatican of the Armenian Apostolic Church. This church was built in 303 AD.’
