Katsina police command parade girlfriends, informants of bandits
The Katsina state police command on Wednesday paraded four women said to be informants, girlfriends and cooks to some wanted bandits in the state.
The women paraded are Bilikisu Abubakar, 20; Rasikat Amadi; Sulie Dairu, 45 and Rakiyat Yusuf,20.
The spokesperson of the command, SP Gambo Isah said the women were recently arrested in a sting operation, adding that police investigation showed that the women always visit Rugu forest to attend to the needs of the bandits including sleeping with them.
The women were said to have strong ties with some dreaded bandits who are on the police wanted list.
According to SP Isah, among the bandits on the police wanted list is Roga Kachala who is described as notorious and who is said to have over 200 boys working under him.
Others said to be on the list are Gume Basullube, Sumail; Haruna Dum; Auta Kachala; Yauza Mai- Bakarkama; Lawali Adda; Babanyiara and Dogo.
The police Spokesman said investigation was still in progress on the suspects, adding that they would soon appear in court.
One of the women, Bilikisu Abubakar confirmed her relationship with one of the bandits, saying she often followed him to his field of operation.
Also arrested along with the women is a middle-aged man, Shuaibu Abubakar of Zamane village, Birin -Magaji in Zamfara state.
Abubakar was said to have been arrested while driving a Toyota Pick-Up van with Registration number XQ 120 YEM loaded with six bags of rice and 25 jerry cans of vegetable oil, through Rugu forest to Zamfara state.
SP Isah said Abubakar allegedly supplies food items to bandits inside the forest.
