A kidnapped wife has been found beheaded with a note saying she was killed because her “husband was messing around and wouldn’t pay the £161,000 ransom.”

Her body was found decapitated inside a bin bag alongside a note from the suspected kidnappers in the eastern Mexican state of Veracruz.

The note reportedly read: “This happened to me because my husband was messing around and wouldn’t pay the ransom.”

Susana Carrera was abducted a week ago outside a friend’s house where she had gone to collect one of her children.

According to the Sun, she was ringing her friend’s doorbell, a car appeared and a man grabbed her and forced her into a waiting car.

According to local media, she had been beheaded because the requested ransom of 4 million MXN (161,000 GBP) had not been paid. It is unclear how the ransom demand was made.

A few hours later, the husband confirmed that his wife had been killed on Facebook and thanked well-wishers for their kindness during the week that she had been held captive.

No arrests have been reported so far. It is unclear what exactly the husband’s role was for the kidnappers to decide to kill his wife.
