Lady stirs controversy with anti-Muslim ‘false god’ tweet
A lady has stirred up the hornet’s nest after her post suggesting that Muslims worship a ‘false god’ went viral on social media.
Making an allusion to the commencement of the Muslims’ Ramadan on Monday, the lady took to Twitter to chastise herself for not being able to fast for three days as a Christian, imagining how Muslims fast for a month to a ‘false god’.
The Muslim annual fasting period known as Ramadan started on Monday across the world. Muslims observe the Ramadan rites by fasting from dawn to dusk for 30 days.
She wrote via her Twitter handle @signedshanice,
“Imagine Muslims can fast a whole month to a false God but a christian can’t even fast 3 days to the Lord God Almighty. This Christian is me sigh lol”
The tweet had since gone viral, evoking series of reactions from Twitter users.
The reactions have made ‘False God’ a trending topic on Twitter.

Whatever you do don’t demean a belief because it’s different from what you believe in. This is despiteful?

A Ramadan fasting is one of the 5 pillars of Islam as ordained by the creator of the heavens and the earth and all that’s in btw. For Muslims to have obeyed this command, it means they believe that God exists and for those doubting his existence, 3 days fasting will be difficult

This is the root of the hatred that is freely preached in church today. The unfortunate thing is that many cant pick up their Bible and walk away because they see the man preaching as equal to God. What would Jesus have said in this instance?

A false God? Who made you judge over whose God is real or not and who says Christians can’t fast? And what justifies whether the Christian God is real or not?

I get the message but not well presented. I’m a christian by the way, and I don’t think this shows love to the Muslim brethren. Remember bible speaks about LOVE being the greatest of all.

You calling someone else’s God a False God is like you calling someone a bastard, when you don’t even know how your own father looks like.

Nigerians have more pressing issues to ponder over, let’s find solutions to hunger, poverty ,countless preventable deaths all over the country instead of this “false god ” talk .Naija wouldn’t be so shitty if you all practised sincerely any of the religions you defend.
