Lagos disowns fake COVID-19 job vacancy advert
The Lagos State Government has disowned the advertisement of job vacancies in Lagos isolation centres being circulated on social media.
Recall that the state government recently disengaged over 30 health workers in various isolation centres in the state.
The Director Public Affairs, state Ministry of Health, Mr Tunbosun Ogunbanwo, in a statement on Friday said the job vacancies being posted on social media was the work of fraudsters.
“The attention of the Lagos State Government has been drawn to an advert making the rounds, especially on social media about job vacancies at COVID-19 Lagos isolation centres.
“We wish to categorically state that this job vacancy advert did not emanate from the Lagos State Government, the Ministry of Health or the COVID-19 Lagos Incident Command System.
“Citizens are therefore advised to disregard this job vacancy advert in its entirety and rely only on official communication channels of the Lagos State Government and the Ministry of Health for news and information on COVID-19 Lagos Response,” the statement reads in part.
Ogunbanwo added that the state government would investigate the source of the advert, apprehend the authors and bring them to book.
