Aeroland slaps female BBC reporter



A female BBC reporter was assaulted by a Peoples Democratic Party politician, Segun Adewale, popularly known as Aeroland, during the Governorship and National Assembly elections on Saturday in Alimosho area of Lagos State.

According to reports by BBC, the incident happened at pleasure bus stop while the politician was reportedly engaging in vote buying.

Narrating the unfortunate incident in pidgin English, the BBC reporter, identified as Joke said it was quite “an experience”.

She said she noticed that people swamped Aeroland because he was sharing money and she immediately started carrying out her journalistic duties “filming him”.

Unfortunately, Aeroland saw her filming, slapped her while aggressively questioning why she had to do so.

She said after the assault, his men seized her phone and ordered her to unlock her phone.

The politician in Lagos State is a native of Ipoti Ekiti in Ijero Local Government Area of Ekiti State, South Western Nigeria and the Lagos West Senatorial Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2015 senatorial election.

In 1997, Segun Adewale founded his own company, Aeroland Travel Limited,  a business travel management, Air charter and Aviation training company.

Aside from the business angle, Segun is a Deacon at Word of Faith Ministry (a.k.a. Winners Chapel). He also holds the title of Otunba Bobajiro of Egbeda Land, from Alimosho, Lagos.
