Reports just reaching us indicate that officials of the Lagos State Transport Management Agency, LASTMA and Police averted a fire outbreak that could have caused loss of many innocent lives today at Ojota under-the-bridge on Ikorodu road in Lagos State.
According NAN photos, a tanker fully loaded plying through the under-the-bridge in Ojota leaked the product it was carrying on Ikorodu road.
Eyewitnesses informed that there was huge panic when passengers and motorists discovered it was petrol as they feared any slight spark could cause fire outbreak in the area.
But all thanks to quick intervention of officials of LASTMA and members of Lagos Police who brought the situation under control.
We learnt the police had to block traffic inward Ikorodu and advised motorists to make use of alternative routes pending when the situation was brought under control.
