LASTMA probe officers allegedly caught on camera counting money extorted from road users [Video]
The Lagos State Transport Management Authority [LASTMA] has begun a probe of some of its officers who were allegedly caught on video counting extorted money.
WuzupNigeria reports that the man, who shared the video online, accused one Officer Hunpegan of extorting the money from them and handing it over to a female colleague to count.
In reaction, LASTMA stated that the officers involved have been summoned and will face action if found guilty.
LASTMA tweeted:
“Our attention has been drawn to the recent video making rounds about extortion from our officers. The Agency has taken note of this even as investigation has commenced. The officers involved will be summoned for subsequent disciplinary action if found guilty.
“We urge the public to continue to report any errant officer(s) to the agency via any of the channels provided.@followlasg.”
