Late Nipsey Hussle to be honoured at the Grammy Awards

The Recording Academy of Grammy Awards said that late Nipsey Hussle’s life and music would be honoured on Jan. 26 at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards.

“The organisers made this known via their instagram page @recordingacademy.

“An all-star tribute to the late, GRAMMY nominated @NipseyHussle to take place at the #GRAMMYs! .

“Set to pay posthumous honour to the current three-time GRAMMY nominee are @kirkFranklin, @DJkhaled,

@JohnLegend,@MeekMill,@RoddyRicch and @YG.

“Watch the 62nd GRAMMY Awards this Sunday,” organisers said.

The Recording Academy would be honouring the rapper with a star-studded tribute, featuring John Legend, Kirk Franklin, DJ Khaled, Meek Mill, Roddy Ricch, and YG.

Meanwhile, Mr Ken Ehrlich, the executive producer of Grammy Awards, stated that late Hussle was an activist, entrepreneur and rapper, who had a lasting impact on not just his community but also the culture at large.

“There is no denying the influence he had, his legacy will be felt for generations to come.

“We are honoured to bring together this amazing group of artistes to celebrate Nipsey’s life and pay tribute to his many contributions to music.

“It is sure to be a memorable performance,” he said.

The Los Angeles rapper, was shot dead outside of his Marathon Clothing Store in South Los Angeles in 2019.

The rapper, whose real name was Ermias Davidson Asghedom died at age 33.

He is also remembered for his immense contributions to the entertainment industry.

His alleged killer, Eric Holder, who has been charged with a two-count charge of murder is currently awaiting trial.
