Stan Lee, the legendary writer, editor and publisher of Marvel Comics has died at the age of 95.

He died early Monday morning at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

His death was confirmed by his daughter, TMZ reports.

Lee had suffered several illnesses over the last year and had a bout of pneumonia and vision issues.

Stan started Marvel with Jack Kirby in 1961 with The Fantastic Four. He went on to create Spider-Man, Black Panther, The Incredible Hulk, X-Men, Iron Man and The Avengers.

Stan made cameo appearances in all of the Marvel movies.

The legendary writer created several comics adored today, including Spider-Man, the X-Men, Black Panther, The Fantastic Four, Iron Man and The Avengers.

Lee is survived by his daughter, J.C. His wife of 69 years, Joan, died in 2017.
