Leicester City new signing Wilfred Ndidi pens an emotional goodbye message to his former club
Leicester City new signing, Wilfred Ndid, on Wednesday wrote an emotional letter to his former club KRC Genk.
Writing on his Instagram account moments ago, Ndidi assured his teammates and fans in Genk that, “I will always carry a part of you in my heart no matter where I go.”
The 20-year-old Nigeria midfielder wrote, “I came here, a young boy with little experience of the world. I was scared of the new adventure but confident of my ability to succeed. My fear was the only courage I needed to excel because I knew failing was not an option. However, from the very first day I got to Genk it was nothing but warm love from my family and friends in Belgium From teammates who became brothers as we faced battles together To fans who never stopped supporting even when things didn’t go our way I found real friends who lifted my soul and celebrated our successes The last two years were some of the best in my life And as I move on at this very important point in my development To further my growth in this career that chose me I cannot bear to say goodbye to Genk and my wonderful friends here I will always carry a part of you in my heart no matter where I go. So, rather than say goodbye, I will say farewell and see you soon. Who knows, someday somehow, I will pass this way again If not as a player, then definitely, as a friend of KRC and I hope to see Genk at the very top.”
Ndidi, who joined the current EPL champions for £15m during the January transfer window, moved to Genk from Nathaniel Boys of Lagos after impressing during a trial and made his debut in January 2015 as a centre-half.
He has been capped twice by Nigeria.
Ndidi will join his international team‑mate Ahmed Musa at Leicester and both will be available during the Africa Cup of Nations because Nigeria failed to qualify.
