IF I LIE I DIE! Senator Dino Melaye seeks NASS veto on Peace Corps Bill, Saraki declines
The lawmaker representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Dino Melaye, has asked the National Assembly to veto President Muhammadu Buhari’s non-assent to the Nigerian Peace Corps Bill.
Melaye made the request at Wednesday’s plenary when he moved a point of order on personal explanation.
Senate President Bukola Saraki who presided over plenary ignored the request without authorizing debate on the issue or making any comment.
It would be recalled that President Buhari withheld his assent to the Peace Corp Nigeria establishment bill on the basis that the organisation is a duplication of existing security agencies.
