Devil using ‘Lucifer’ series to win souls, Mike Bamiloye’s son sparks Twitter controversy
The series based on a ceated character, follows Lucifer, the original fallen angel, who has become dissatisfied with his life in hell. After abandoning his throne and retiring to Los Angeles, Lucifer indulges in his favorite things (women, wine and song).
He wrote,
There’s a show
Called LUCIFER
Azin the devil o lol
And you,
Knowing how captivating foreign series can be,
You still watch.
Now you LOVE the character; Lucifer,
Like Jack Bauer.
And somehow you think,
the devil isn’t winning your soul over…

Few hours after his tweet went vital and generated criticisms, Joshua took to Twitter to add,
“This tweet really exposes how bad things have gotten. Satan is far more smarter than we think. It’s not just sitting around waiting for rapture to happen.
“He’s turning as many hearts as he can to himself using MOSTLY the media. It’s the easiest most subtle way for him.”
“That being said, this isn’t to scare us, but to remind us to stay vigilant, wise, keeping our hearts and spirit on what glorify God. We are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus.”
Reacting to the tweet, a social media user lambasted Joshua and his father over the Mount Zion Christian series popular in the 1990s.
She wrote,
Your dad’s poorly researched, badly scripted and low budget attempt at movies didn’t do Christianity any favors either.
Y’all basically scarred people for life. https://t.co/FyJcavL2qD

Her response sparked further heated debates on Twitter with many users defending Joshua and the Mount Zion movies with account of how the movies were beneficial to their lives, while others also joined in the condemnation of the Mout Zion series.

Christianity came into Nigeria when there was a large dominance in pagan worship and other gods that seemed to have some sort of power. We have been given a name above all and in the bid to show that (which they did), A lot of missionaries began to focus on the Power of God than

You’re very rude and you missed point of the whole tweet. So many people grew up watching mount zion movies and it helped to shape their lives. All what he was say is that whatever we watch has effect on our lives either directly or indirectly.

Agbara-Nla saved my marriage from being attacked by an ayamatanga. Please add my name to the list of testimonies of your father’s ministry. If I didn’t watch that movie in Lagos, i would have been clueless and naive and destroyed. pic.twitter.com/gqkhzYyEDe

While that may be an issue but Mount Zion movies did not in anyway portray God as the bad guy, it only showed that with God we can overcome powers and principalities of this world. How is that different from what we have in the Bible?
