Man calls out ‘ungrateful’ Nigerians whose release he procured, Twitter users react
Nigerians on Twitter have put some ungrateful Nigerians on blast for failing to appreciate a lawyer who procured their release from Police detention.
Sharing his disappointment at the two ungrateful Nigerians, the lawyer @Great Oracle, compared their actions to that of the ten lepers in the bible.
Sharing details of what happened, @Great Oracle wrote:
“Woken up by persistent calls and WhatsApp messages notifying away at 01:48 am. Two Nigerians assaulted by police could let me sleep. Made contacts with police top brass till 3am. 06:03 am the Nigerians resumed their calls and WhatsApp. Again rudely woken up.”
“At 06:15am I called @segalink, briefed him and asked him to ensure their release. 11 am sent me a message: “they’ve been unconditionally released, Sir”. Another testimony
“How about the Nigerians? Not a word from them. Or thank you for rudely disturbing my sleep. 4 hours later, I sent her a message: “Told by my boss that you and your mum have been released”.
“Yes”, she replied. “But, they still have my plates and food flasks”, she replied further. I shook my head, then replied: “do you want to go back, so they release the items and detain you instead?”. No reply.
Twitter users have quickly joined in chastising the two who failed to, in the least, call their ‘saviour’ to say thank you.
See some of their reactions below:
Gratitude should be a part of the curriculum because many people do not understand how important it is. The truth is, being a grateful person does not do the helper any good as much as it would do you, the receiver.

Yeah, having a heart full of gratitude will indirectly encourage the person to do more than that another time, but when did something to an ungrateful fellow, it will make you feel like the help rendered was of no need

Alot of us stopped giving help because previous benefactors never returned to show honest gratitude.
Alot will murmur “what did he even do? Common money or call he made, him wants me to comma worship him”
Ingrate everywhere

On behalf of the ingrates I say thank you for all the good work. May their ungratefulness never stop you from helping those in need of help. GOD BLESS YOU

May God help us in this nation. The depth of ingratitude in some people can actually deter the rest from receiving such favours in future. On their behalf, Nigerians are saying a very Big thank you to You Sir and to @segalink who always come to rescue the voiceless

I know the indiscretions of a few Nigerians will not deter nor discourage you from the good works you have been rendering to humanity . God bless you sir . Heavens will be kind to you
