Man City board unhappy with Guardiola after Liverpool wins title
Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has admitted the club’s chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak is unhappy with him, over the club’s failed title defence.
City were denied their consecutive title by Liverpool, whom they trail by 21 points with three games left.
Guardiola, speaking during a virtual press conference on Tuesday, revealed Al Mubarak is not pleased by the size of the gap between City and Liverpool.
“Internally, when I don’t like something, I say to my chairman.
“My chairman is not happy with me. We’ll finish 21 or 23 points behind Liverpool.
“He’s not happy with me, but we discuss internally to try and do better next season, to convince them, but always on the pitch,” Guardiola said.
City face Bournemouth in the Premier League on Wednesday, before continuing their quest to win silverware this weekend with a FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal.
