Man commits suicide over unemployment
A young Nigerian reportedly committed suicide overnight due to unemployment.
A Twitter user, Adedayo Ben Lanre, who is a cousin to the deceased, shared the incident on Twitter.
He wrote,
Not the best news to start the week… My closest cousin committed suicide overnight due to unemployment. Samson why? ?????????
He added,
“Today is the worst day of my life.”

WuzupNigeria reports that suicide incidents have increased in the country. In September, a 35-year-old man, Badamasi Musa, was found hanging on a tree in the outskirts of Kabomo village by villagers who went to their farms early. Musa was reportedly battling mental disease before his death.
In August, a Twitter user, Somadina Miracle, shared on Twitter how her aunt committed suicide over the lack of love in her marriage. Miracle noted that her late aunt, who had two kids for her estranged husband, was the financier of the family. She said the husband took no financial responsibility in the house because he never loved her.
Also in the same month, a 46-year-old male banker, Onyechere Ibeakanma, swallowed poisoned. The father of one was an employee of United Bank For Africa (UBA) in Lagos State before he committed suicide. The father of one was found lying lifeless in his room in Victoria Island, Lagos State.
