Man dumps girlfriend of three years on pastor’s order, marries ‘church sister’, then the unexpected happened

girlfriend three years

Thus saith the Lord! That was the directive a young man was supposedly following when his pastor told him his girlfriend of three years who had been performing the duty of a wife was not the right woman for him.

The directive came at a time Moses (not real name) was eagerly looking forward to getting married after three years with his estranged beau.

Reluctantly, he obeyed what he may have taken as ‘vox populi, vox Dei’ (voice of man is the voice of God), he dumped the lady and went for a more religious sister in his church, then things began to take a dramatic turn in his life and now he is presently boxed to a corner.

A Nigerian lady took to Twitter on Thursday to narrate how Moses, who he said is her older friend, dumped his longtime girlfriend because the pastor claimed the lady is bad for him and he cannot marry a lady who has been ‘leading him into sin.’

In a series of tweets via her handle @_Oroboghene, she claimed Moses’ mother took the name of the lady to the pastor to seek spiritual guidance as the duo plan to get married, but the response from the pastor was negative.

According to the pastor:

“The woman he wants to marry is bad for him as she has been causing him to live in sin.”

In compliance with the pastor’s advice, Moses dumped the lady and became a regular churchgoer, probably in a bid to move closer to God and find a lady that rightly fits into the standard of the pastor.

Desperate for marriage, Moses’ consistency in church soon paid off as he finally found a lady who is a virgin among the congregation who he eventually tied with.

Oroboghene narrated further, with a bit of humour, that trouble started shortly after their wedding as Moses started complaining about his wife who cannot cook and cannot do other duties his former girlfriend was doing for him while they were together.

She tweeted:

“So one of my older friends left his 3-year live-in girlfriend to marry a virgin and “virtuous babe” he dated for only six months… I’m here to tell you that we just found out Bro Moses has been sleeping in an hotel for the past six weeks, coz his virtuous wife threw him out

So here’s the story. Apparently, Moses (not real name for obvious reasons), has been dating sisi iyawo ile for three years. She moved in after their second year because they were going strong na. Next move abi? Marriage was very much in the picture and all…

“So she was comfortably playing wife. Cooking. Sex. Bills. Gbogbo e. All that was left was marriage certificate. Of course, Moses’ family knew her. His friends too and vice versa. Even in my mind… “nothing fit spoil this relationship.” Everyone believed they were solid.

“Moses and I stopped being so close. We both got busy with lives but no bad blood. I assumed their relationship was going smoothly o. Only for me to hear that Moses was now engaged. In my mind, “Ahhh… finally. Iyawo ile will soon become Iyawo ni tooto.” Abi?

Only for me to see pictures and it wasn’t Iyawo ile I was seeing o. I was seeing Iyawo tuntun… Argh. I quickly reached out to my sister. I like amebo, I know. You too “Sister mi, are you not seeing what I’m seeing?” She said she was seeing it o. She was still chummy with Moses, so I thought she’d know something. That was how she told me that Moses told her that when he was ready to propose to Iyale, his mother proposed that he saw a pastor so that he would pray about it.

“As you might have guessed, Pastor told Moses that the woman he wants to marry is bad for him as she has been causing him to “live in sin”.

“In his words, any woman that lets you have “carnal knowledge” of her to the point of living with you can never make a good wife. Bro Moses was advised to shirk off his sinful ways, put Iyale away and find a good Christian sister.

“It was hard but… God’s will na. Abi? Moses sha sent Iyale away and started going to church wella. He wasn’t getting any younger and he desperately needed a wife. As God would have it, in his infinite mercy, tanran… Iyawo tuntun entered picture.

“It was love at first sight and she was the perfect sister in the Lord. When he got to find out that she was a virgin.. ah… sign Iyaf complete. Sister never visited Moses. They didn’t even hug or kiss throughout the period of courtship and they never met alone

“She wouldn’t allow it. What remain? Moses thought he had found wife o. Pa pa pa, introduction. Pa pa pa pa, marriage. Everything set. Only for two months later, virtuous wife became nagging, insecure wife. God forgive me for finding this funny.

“Anyway, news reaching me now is that sister in the Lord cannot cook. She’s too lazy to do house chores and well, she does not have “good words” in her mouth. Not that it’s her duty to do house chores, but Brother Moses enjoyed all these with Iyale na. He was expectant.

“After several occasions of verbal abuse and ceaseless nagging, Moses decided to move to the proverbial “roof”. Everything is the same. He still eats out and all. The only difference is that now he has peace of mind and he’s considering having that for life. He wants a divorce.

And he suddenly calling up Iyale about how much he “misses” her… He wants to go back to his “non-wife material” He’s tired of his woman of virtue o.”

She added:

“Because you guys have been asking for update, I’ve asked my sis to reach out to Iyale. They aren’t friends but they’re cool… We hope she’d open up. We don’t trust Moses to not give us diluted info. I’ll keep y’all posted.”

The story which has since gone viral on Twitter has sparked reactions as many social media users claimed the tradition of seeking pastor’s consent before marriage has ruined many homes and led many young people into marrying ‘incompatible partners’ in the name of obeying ‘God’s directive’ according to their pastor or spiritual leader.

Pastor Paul Olowoayo wrote:

“I wouldn’t let a Pastor decide for me, I’ll pray to my God and hear from him we are all his children and can equally hear from him.”

Sir Dickson tweeted:

“I don’t know how Nigerians turned “Woman of Virtue” to mean virginity. In the popular Pro 31, there was no mention of virginity. Why do people miss the place of kindness, hard work, responsibility, motherhood, faithfulness, financial intelligence, love in the qualities of virtue?”

Akande Niola wrote:

“What pastors have caused in some peoples life in this foolish country ehn. I pray bro Moses suffer for a long time and Iyawo ile get married to a deserving man before he gets to her nonsense and ingredients.”

Girl, six, kicked out of daycare for wearing a ‘Black Lives Matter’ t-shirt

For wearing a shirt that had “Black Lives Matter” written on it, a mother claims that her six-year-old daughter was kicked out of daycare.

Deval Brockman, from Russellville, Arkansas, said her 6-year-old daughter named Journei Brockman has been attending daycare at “His Kids Preschool” for six months.

However, she was told last Friday, June 26, she could not return.

Deval Brockman told FOX16 that her daughter’s school called her last Thursday, June 25 and an employee told her that she didn’t “like” or “agree”” with the shirt.

The employee also asked that Brockman not send her daughter to the school wearing it again.

Brockman said she reported the complaint to state officials and she was told that her daughter could wear the shirt unless it contained profanity.

“If I’m supporting something, I’m going to wear it, my child is going to wear it, to help say that our voice needs to be heard,” Brockman said.

Journei Brockman returned to the preschool last Friday, wearing a different shirt with an image of a raised fist printed on the back, which is the Black Lives Matter symbol.

When Deval Brockman picked her daughter up at the end of the day, she was told her daughter was no longer welcome at the school. An employee allegedly said that the shirt was encouraging racism.

“I got very upset. I’m just like are you serious? Over a T-shirt?” Brockman said.

She claimed that a school director also told her:

“I am not going to tell you how to raise your child, but you need to reevaluate how you’re parenting her.”

“It’s not political, it’s everyday life, it’s all over the news. Right is right and wrong is wrong,” Brockman said.

Patricia Brown, director of His Kids Preschool, said in a statement to FOX 16:

“We feel a childcare environment is not a place for a parent’s political views to be addressed or played out, regardless of race.”

George Floyd: Trump mocks teargassed protesters, says it was a beautiful scene

President of the United States of America, Donald Trump has reacted to the US National Guard using tear gas to disperse Black Lives Matter protesters in Minnesota.

Trump described the use of teargas on protesters who took to the streets in response to the killing of George Floyd, a black American who died last month when a white Police officer Derek Chauvin kneeled on his neck in Minneapolis, as a ‘beautiful scene.’

Speaking at an event in Dallas, Texas, the president shared his views on efforts made by the Minnesota National Guard to restore order.

Trump said:

It was like a miracle. Just everything stopped. I’ll never forget the scene, it’s not supposed to be a beautiful scene but to me it was. After you watch policemen run out of a police precinct.

“And it wasn’t their fault, they wanted to do what they had to do but they weren’t allowed to do anything but they were running down the street, they weren’t allowed to do what they’re trained to do and they took over the precinct, they essentially burned it down.

“And yes there was some tear gas and probably some other things. And the crowd dispersed and they went through. ‘By the end of the evening… everything was fine and you didn’t hear about that location having problems anymore.”
