Integrity test: Man gets pay rise after reporting overpayment of January salary
“Real integrity is doing the right thing, knowing that nobody’s going to know whether you did it or not,” those are the words of popular American media personality Oprah Winfrey and that was exactly the route a Ghanaian man chose to ply after he discovered there was an ‘error’ in the payment of his January salary.
Henry Terry took to his Twitter page to share the story of how his salary was overpaid and the step he took when he got the credit alert.
He reported the anomaly to his employers and their response gave him a confirmation that integrity pays.
Ordinarily many would have thought it’s manna from heaven, coming at a time of the year many workers are lamenting the paucity of funds.
Henry said after reporting the error, he was informed that it was an integrity test and that would be his salary henceforth.

He tweeted:
“My January salary was overpaid. I wrote to my employers about the anomaly. Today, they informed me it was a test of my integrity and because I passed the test, it ‘ll be my new salary monthly. Lord”
