Two randy men, Mohammed Lawal and Auwal Suleiman, have allegedly impregnated two minors, the Police Public  Relations Officer [PPRO] in Katsina disclosed on Thursday.

The PPRO, SP Gambo Isah, said Lawal, 46, of Unguwar Runji Quarters, in Kankia area of the state, had unlawful carnal knowledge of his 13-year-old niece on 15 June 2020 around 2 pm, which resulted in pregnancy.

The second suspect, 21-year-old Suleiman of Shawaki village, Bakori Local Government Area of the state, also left his 14-year-old victim with six-month pregnancy after he allegedly raped her.

Meanwhile, no fewer than 40 alleged rapists were apprehended by the command in the last three months.

They were paraded alongside other suspects at the command’s headquarters in Katsina on Thursday.

The suspects are however still in the police custody because of the current restrictions on the transfer of new inmates into correctional centres due to COVID-19.
