A man in his 20s was stabbed outside London’s O2 Academy in Brixton where Naira Marley’s concert was billed to hold on Sunday night.

Police officers and an ambulance rushed to Stockwell Road, Lambeth, around 9.40 pm to reports that a young man had been stabbed outside the venue where Naira Marley was playing.

The victim’s wound was not said to be life-threatening and the concert was allowed to go ahead, Daily Mail UK reports.

However, many were left furious and confused outside the concert hall after they said staff had shut the doors and refused to let anyone else in.

Videos emerged of Capital Xtra DJ Tim Westwood walking around outside the O2.

“Naira Marley got locked off, so Tim Westwood was chilling in main brikky (Brixton),” one person tweeted.

Confirming the incident, the Metropolitan Police tweeted:

We were called to Stockwell Road, #Lambeth at 21:41hrs to a report of a stabbing. Officers and Ambulance attended and treated a man in his 20s with a stab wound.

“He was taken to hospital in a non-life threatening condition. No arrests; enquiries continue.”

No arrests have been made, as officers continue enquiries.
