Marlians go wild on Twitter as Naira Marley drops teaser of new single ‘Puta’  [Video]

Controversial Nigerian singer, Azeez Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley, set social media abuzz on Thursday after teasing his fans with the snippet of his new single ‘Puta’.

Perhaps you have been wondering why Naira Marley and Marlians, an alias his fans have coined for themselves, have been trending at the top stop on Twitter Nigeria, make no mistake, he is not back in EFCC net, neither has he landed in another problem, it’s all because of ‘Puta’ his new song.

The singer took to his Instagram page on Wednesday evening to post the snippet asking his fans for 100,000 comments on the post before releasing the full video.

As at the time of filing this report, the post has garnered over 100,000 comments and over 400,000 likes on Instagram.

He also took to Twitter to ask his fans who want the video released to retweet the snippet, asking those who want it released next month to like the tweet. The tweet has since garnered over 6,000 retweets and over 8,000 likes.

Since he posted the teaser on Twitter, his fans (Marlians) have been agog as they take to the micro-blogging to sing his praises and also taunt other social media users who always criticise Naira Marley for his controversial lifestyle.

Naira Marley and Marlians are presently trending on Twitter Nigeria following the release of ‘Puta’ snippet.

Meanwhile, some social media users have argued that Naira Marley may have paid social media influencers to sing his praises on Twitter thereby making him a trending topic on the micro-blogging site.

Naira Marley has continued to court controversy after coming on the spotlight over his arrest and trial by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after publicly defending internet fraud and also releasing his controversial song ‘Am I A Yahoo Boy’ featuring Zlatan Ibile.

The EFCC filed an 11-count charges against him before a Federal High Court in Lagos. He was granted bail by the court on May 30.
