Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt has agreed personal terms with Italian Serie A giants Juventus, his agent Mino Raiola confirmed last night.

There were multiple reports last month that De Ligt was is being eyed by numerous clubs, including Manchester United, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, but his agent has confirmed that he will be moving to Turin.

“Matthijs has agreed personal terms with Juve. We’re waiting for them to complete the agreement with Ajax soon,” Raiola told Dutch paper De Telegraaf.

It was gathered that Juventus are yet to agree a fee with Ajax for the 19-year-old, with talks between the two clubs ongoing.

The Dutch champions are understood to be seeking £67m but Juve are reported to have made an offer of around £50m plus a potential further £10m in add-ons.

Raiola says De Ligt will not force an exit but has made it clear he wants to join the Italian giants.

An arbitration case is out of the question for us, I advised Matthijs [on this], because it does not suit his style,” said Raiola

“The player only hopes that Juventus and Ajax will show the will to get out and that the deal is completed quickly.”

De Ligt is expected to earn around £230,000 per week at Juve, where he will play under former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri.
