The first lady of the United States of America, Melania Trump, has undergone a successful surgery to treat benign kidney condition.

Mrs. Trump underwent the surgery on Monday at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center near Washington D.C.

In a statement by the white house, Mrs Trump procedure was successful and there was no complication.

Mrs. Trump is at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and will likely remain there for the duration of the week.

“The first lady looks forward to a full recovery so she can continue her work on behalf of children everywhere.”

President Trump also visited his wife in the hospital. He disclosed this on his Twitter page. Trump wrote,

“Heading over to Walter Reed Medical Center to see our great First Lady, Melania.

“Successful procedure, she is in good spirits. Thank you to all of the well-wishers!”

Vice President Mike Pence said on Monday that Mrs. Trump’s procedure was “long-planned,” citing her visit to Walter Reed as the reason Mr. Trump had sent him to represent the administration at a reception hosted by the Israeli Embassy to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Israeli independence.
