Members-elect battle ready for Gbajabiamila, Wase
Amid tight security, members-elect on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) began the day in the chamber of the House of Representatives on a determined note as they sauntered into the Green chamber for the election of their presiding officers.
Femi Gbajabiamila, Umaru Bago and Olajide Olatubosun are contesting for the position of the 9th Speaker of the House.
The election is expected to begin shortly after the conclusion of the election in the Senate later today.
The incoming lawmakers started arriving the National Assembly as early as 8am.
The lobby of the White House that housed the two chambers was beautifully decorated with the National colours and the red and green colours of the two chambers marking the side of the chamber.
Many were seen in the lobby taking photographs with their families and friends.
As soon as members-elect who were already seated with their spouses sighted Hon Faleke, they started chanting ‘Gbaja/Wase’, Sai Gbaja’ ‘Are we ready, yes’, followed by songs like ‘Ose ose o, ose o, ose Baba’,
