Since joining Middlesbrough Football Club of North Yorkshire, England in January, 31-year-old Nigerian international, John Obi Mikel has continued to receive tremendous outpouring of love from the club’s fans who have gone wild over his performance for the club.

Mikel joined the English Football League Championship side on short-term deal after terminating his contract with Tianjin Teda of China.

In a new video posted by Mikel on his Instagram page, some lads who are Middlesbrough fans were seen with so much excitement singing at the stadium; “We love Mikel, John Obi Mikel…”

He posted the video and wrote:

“What a privilege to have such amazing support from these incredible young boys! Thank you lads, you are the best ??”

It would be recalled that after a recent match against Blackburn Rovers, Middlesbrough’s official twitter handle had tagged the Nigerian skipper ‘A Rolls-Royce of a midfielder’. The club’s fans also showed their admiration for the former Chelsea player by composing a song that goes;

“We’ve got Mikel!

John Obi Mikel!

I just don’t think you understand

The midfield man

The African Zidane

We’ve got John Obi Mikel!”

No doubt the Nigerian skipper is enjoying the best of times of his career at Middlesbrough.
