Ministerial Screening: My seven-year-old grandson asked me why they call me Liar Mohammed on social media [Video]
The immediate past Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has urged the Senators not to believe the names they call him on social media.
The former minister earned the tag of ‘Liar Mohammed’ on social media from his days as the National Publicity Secretary of the then opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).
While addressing the Senate during his screening as a ministerial nominee on Tuesday, Mohammed who is the second nominee from Kwara state said he never took the social media tag serious until his seven-year-old grandson asked him about it.
He said:
“There is only one small issue I want to draw your attention to on my CV, it’s about my name.
“My name as it appears on my CV is correct — Lai Mohammed.”
“Please, don’t believe what they call me on social media. They call me all sorts of names there.
“I used to ignore it until my seven-year-old grandson asked me, ‘Why do they call you Liar Mohammed?’
“I looked at him, what do you say to a seven-year-old son, how do you explain politics to him, I just told him, don’t mind them, they are the bad guys.”
