MIXED REACTIONS! Uber driver kicks lady out of his car for badmouthing his profession
An Uber driver, identified as @EasyCarHireServ, has sparked an online debate after he recounted how he dropped a female passenger off because she badmouthed his profession.
The Uber driver said he felt insulted and politely told her that he can’t complete the trip.
@EasyCarHireServ wrote;
“So, I picked this lady & a man asked if I am her husband? She replied “Uber driver, God forbid bad thing” I just ended d trip & told her Am sorry I won’t be able to complete this trip politely.
“My wife is a professional banker in one of d top banks n in every way better than her.
“I have a professional job and still I drive on the platforms as a side hustle. I will humble you if you don’t show little respect. Everything is not about money.”
Twitterati have begun to debate the Uber drivers assertions and also give their two cents over the “touchy” issue.

Many female users claimed that male Uber drivers are rude and unprofessional when dealing with their female clients adding that @EasyCarHireServ got what he deserved.
Some also admonished the female client saying it was insulting to demean the job of a hardworking Uber driver.
One Twitter user wrote,
“I like how we are encouraging uber/taxify riders (esp women) to be more respectful to drivers, I agree 100%
“But there’s an angle no one is looking at, why do drivers get defensive when their rider is a woman? Why do they find it difficult to accord same respect to female riders?
“I think some male riders also have issues (due to the patriarchal nature of our society) serving women.
So the platform owners (uber/taxify etc) should see this growing trend as a worrying one, too many complaints, it can’t be the fault of the women riders all the time. Train
“your staff. Women and male riders are equal, women and male riders are paying. Accord both genders equal respect. Do all of these and more and just maybe we will stop hearing bad stories everyday.
“This is not in any way to justify condescending behavior (done by MEN and WOMEN).”
Another user Big Daddy Gersh@__gershom, said;
“Here’s my unpopular opinion; the burden of professionalism lies solely on the service provider. Take these same people to drive Uber overseas & I promise you they would behave themselves if a white woman was moving mad.Big Daddy Gersh added,
“Also, I’m pretty sure I will be rude to an Uber/Taxify driver all I want and he won’t threaten me or assault me physically.
“No excuse for being rude to people but at the end of the day, you will put up with shit from customers. It’s inevitable. To pretend that Uber/taxify Driver’s don’t react different to the shit they get from male & female passengers(or what they even consider “shit”) is dishonest.”

Funny enough, Uber drivers earn better than graduates in Nigeria but sense is far from most ladies to see this. Why are ladies always having problem with Uber drivers?

“Women are rude to Uber drivers”
Uber drivers are horrible towards women. In fact, men in general are a lot more badly behaved when they are serving women.

This Uber/Taxify issue, there are 2 valid angles and one doesn’t negate the other.
It is true some men underrate their female customers and put them at risk.
It is also true some customers are rude to their driver’s because of a pseudo superiority complex.

This is exactly why I’ve refrained from commenting on this issue. You’ve said the simple truth. Once the rider is a woman, most drivers have a preconceived notion about the ‘female attitude’ and proceed to react accordingly, sometimes condescendingly. It is sad.
