Mob kills policeman, sets Ondo church ablaze over missing child [Video]
A yet-to-be-identified policeman was on Wednesday lynched by a mob at Sotitobire Praising Chapel, Oshinle Quarters, in Akure, the Ondo State capital, where a one-year-old boy went missing a few weeks ago.
The angry youths also set the church ablaze following the protest over the missing child during church service in November.
The little boy, Gold Kolawole was kidnapped in the church and his whereabouts remain unknown till the present moment.
Residents alleged that the police were not conducting a proper investigation on the matter.
According to an eyewitness, the youths attacked the church over speculations that the remains of the missing child were exhumed from the altar of the church, which turned out to be false.
During the attack, one of the policemen manning the worship center was mobbed as they alleged that the church was not showing remorse about the missing boy.
The pastor of the church, Prophet Alfa Babatunde, was said to be in the custody of the Directorate of State Service.
