Mom of First Bank’s manager abducted in Delta
The mother to a first bank branch manager, Philip Atiku, has been abducted in Ughelli South local government area of Delta State.
The abductors reportedly kidnapped Madam Angelina Atiku on Sunday at her Oguname-Olomu residence in Ughelli.
WuzupNigeria gathered that the 65-year-old was abducted around 8p.m but details of the incident were still sketchy as at the time of filing this report.
“The gunmen numbering four, forced her into their vehicle and sped off in an operation that lasted less than five minutes,” The Punch reported quoting an unnamed source.
Another source very close to the family said, “as at Monday morning, the hoodlums were yet to establish contact with the family.”
The incident is coming less than three weeks after a Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] ward chairman in the area, Paul Onomuakpokpo, was assassinated by yet to be identified gunmen.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer PPRO, Onome Onovwakpoyeya confirmed the report. She said, ”yes it is confirmed”
The state commissioner of police C.P Hafiz Mohammed Inuwu also confirmed the incident when contacted.
He said, ”the police is aware of the matter”.
C.P Hafiz also said that, “I heard about it and we are doing something towards ensuring that she is rescued soonest.”
