MURDER! Dad hacks son to death, buries him in shallow grave inside compound over cashew nut ownership
A 60-year-old man, Hyacinth Ilo, has allegedly hacked his son, Izuchukwu Ilo, to death at Obinetiti Isikwe village in Achi community in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State over an argument on the ownership of cashew nut.
The state’s police command spokesman, SP Ebere Amaraizu in a statement issued on Thursday said the incident happened on March 21.
He said the boy’s father on noticing that he has killed his son, went further to bury him in a shallow grave inside his compound.
Amaraizu said the command had already commenced a full-scale investigation into the incident to ascertain what actually transpired.
He said,
“Hyacinth Ilo, 60, allegedly had an argument with his son, Izuchukwu Ilo. In the ensuing argument over cashew nut ownership between them the father allegedly hit his son with a stick on the back of his head who immediately slumped and died. On noticing that he has died, the father went further to bury him in a shallow grave inside his compound.’’
The police spokesman said the suspect who had been arrested is helping police in the investigation.
