The Ondo State Police Command on Thursday arrested some suspected criminals, who had allegedly been terrorizing the state in recent times. They were paraded at the headquarters of the command in Akure, the state capital.

One of the suspects, Idris Sule was arrested by the men of the command for being in possession of human parts. He was alleged to have removed the head and arms of a yet to be identified dead man in Isua Akoko the headquarters of the Akoko Southeast Local Government Area of the state and kept the parts in his house at Shinabole village in Ose Local Government.

Parading the suspects, the Public Relations Officer of the state command, Mr. Tee-Leo Ikoro said Sule committed the offense two weeks ago.

He said, ” One Ahmed Odere, a.k.a Teacher, who has farmland at Shinabole camp, returned home and discovered that something was smelling badly in the house he was staying with three other tenants. When nobody could explain what was smelling or where the odor was coming from, he gave the information to his landlord, Abu Abedo. The landlord later followed the Teacher to the house and asked everybody living in the house to bring out their loads to enable him to find out what was smelling.

“Everybody did and nothing was found except on Idris Sule who was not present. The landlord then sent Teacher and one other person to go and search for Idris Sule and bring him. They went to look for him from where he was hiding and brought him to the house.

” He was asked to bring out his loads to find out what was smelling and he brought out a big sack which was discovered to contain a burnt human head and two hands. He alleged that it was one Alhasan Ishaku whose son came to inform him that his father needed human parts and that they have seen one human body at Isua.

“He then followed the two boys, named Dipo jimoh and Damaka Jimoh who are now at large, to cut the head and hands of their victim.”

Speaking, Sule admitted being in possession of the human parts but said it was one Alhassan, who is sister’s husband that sent him to bring the human parts.

” It was my brother-in-law that sent his two sons to me that I should go and bring him the human parts, that he wanted to use them. So the two boys took me to a burnt corpse in a bush at Isua, and we removed the head and two arms of the corpse. I was not the one that killed the person.” Sule stated.

He, however, said the police arrested him and his in-law but they had released the in-law on bail on Wednesday.

The PPRO said the suspect would soon be charged to court after the completion of the investigation.
