Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has told a social critic to go ahead and sue his wife because she does not enjoy immunity.

Governor Akeredolu’s wife, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu attacked a Canadian based social critic, Jimmy Adekanle, whom she described as a rapist.

This was after Adekanle accused Betty of breaching the lockdown order in Ondo State by going on an inter-state journey and returning to hold a rally for her husband’s second term bid.

“Jimmy Adekanle Jaf shut the hell up. You are still talking. This has entered in Ondo social media lexicon. I even heard that you are a sex offender and you ran away to Canada. Shame on you! Come back. Police is waiting for you. And my office is after scumbags like you. You are in real trouble. Arabinrin has no mercy for rapists like you. Jail term awaits you. FAKE HUMAN IRESIVIST…,” the First Lady wrote on Facebook.

Her words have forced Adekanle to threaten to take her to court if her statement is not retracted within a certain period.

Adekanle’s council, Tolu Babaleye stated that an “unreserved apology” must be published by the First Lady or his client will have to seek redress in court.

In response, the governor wrote:

“Tolu Babaleye, please go ahead with your client’s further instructions and file the action. The First Lady does not enjoy immunity.”
