Mysterious inferno destroys multi-million school laboratory in Enugu (Photos)
Mysterious inferno has destroyed a multi-million naira Science Laboratory of the Community Secondary School, Amagunze in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State.
Newsmen gathered that the Laboratory section of the college gutted by fire on Friday night and the inferno razed down the building and facilities worth millions of naira in it.
A community leader, Ozor Francis Nnamani who disclosed this to our correspondent in a telephone interview on Tuesday, said “the cause of the inferno is not yet known.”
Nnamani said “I went to the School on Monday together with HRH Igwe Moshood N. Okorie of Ohuani Amagunze, HRH Igwe Elder Emmanuel Nnamchi of Okeani/Aniyi Amagunze and members of Neighborhood Watch to see things by ourselves.
“The residual information indicated that the fire did not come from the bush.
“The Principal of the School, Mr. Ignatius Obusi told us that he had contacted Amagunze Police Division and was also on the verge of reaching out to the Chairman of Post Primary School Management Board (PPSMB), Mr. Nestor Ezema,” he explained.
He said that since the incident occurred on Friday, police is yet to commence their investigations, while appealing to the Government of Enugu State and the PPSMB to come their aid.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Dan Ndukwe confirmed the fire incident to our correspondent when contacted on telephone on Tuesday.
Ndukwe said investigation had since commenced and promised that the police would get to root of the incident.
