NAF renews loyalty to Buhari

The News Agency of Nigeria has commiserated with President Muhammadu Buhari over the demise of his former Chief of Staff, Mallam Abba Kyari.

In the condolence letter signed by Alhaji Biola Lawal, it’s Acting Managing Director, the federal agency said it received the news of Kyari’s death with “a deep sense of grief”, considering his contributions to national development.

“We share in your pain and grief with all sincerity and sense of duty.

“Your tribute to Mallam Abba Kyari added to our sorrow as it was so touching and showed the intensity of the emotional pain and stress his death is for you, and all compassionate Nigerians.

“You are describing him as a `loyal friend and compatriot for the past 42 years’, again testifies to how much you are going to miss him personally.

“Those who knew the late Chief of Staff intimately also confirmed that he was a very simple and humble person. He was trustworthy, was not greedy and was full of compassion for others.

“We pray that Almighty ALLAH should forgive him, have mercy on him and grant him al-jannatul Firdaus as a martyr.

“On behalf of the entire NAN staffers, please accept our condolence. May Allah also grant Kyari’s family the fortitude to bear this loss.

“We wish to assure Your Excellency that NAN will continue to contribute significantly to the national battle against COVID-19. We are intensifying sensitization and mobilization of the populace to enhance cooperation with the Federal Government toward defeating the pandemic,” the letter stated.

Kyari, 67, died on Friday and was buried on Saturday in Abuja.
