The abducted Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Chairman in Nasarawa State, Bishop Joseph Masin, has regained his freedom.

Recall that Nasarawa police command had confirmed the abduction of the state Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bishop Joseph Masin, by gunmen in Lafia and a N20m ransom was demanded for his release.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Bola Longe, confirmed his release to the media on Sunday in Lafia.

He disclosed that four suspects have been arrested and that investigation was ongoing to arrest all those involved.

Longe, however, denied knowledge of any ransom being paid to secure the release of the CAN chairman.

He said all the suspects would be charged to court for prosecution after investigation.

Pastor Sam Joseph, son of the CAN Chairman, told newsmen that his father was freed about 11:45 p.m. on Saturday.

“He was freed around Lizhi village in Nasarawa-Eggon Local Government Area of the state.

“The chairman arrived his Bukan-sidi residence in Lafia at about 2:00 a.m on Sunday and had been taken for medical examination in an undisclosed hospital.” he added.
